Giving
Why we give: |
How to give: |
In John 3:16 we read, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (ESV) Not only does this verse present us with the kernel of the best news in the world -- the gospel! -- but it also tells us a fundamental truth about God: God showed His love by giving His Son; God is a giver. It is through this example of giving (and others) that we see that giving is a method by which we can follow in the footsteps of God.
And to what are we supposed to give? In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus taught, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (ESV) In these verses, Jesus teaches that when we use our treasure, it should go to eternal investments in heaven. There are many ways to give and store up your treasures in heaven. Giving to Ridgeview Christian Church is one of those ways. Ridgeview seeks to equip people to know about God, love God and His creations (people), go and serve the world, and disciple others to know, love, and go more. Ridgeview is non-denominational and autonomous, so it does not receive outside financial or denominational help. All of Ridgeview's funding comes through gifts from people like you. This funding supports missions, church staff, community outreach, youth and children's events, church-building maintenance, Bible curriculum, and more. |
1) Online Giving: Click here to go to our online giving page. Clicking this link will take you to a secure third party that handles our online giving.
Note about online giving: Because online giving has its own unique costs, online giving requires that a small percentage of your gift (between 1 and 3%, depending on type of gift) will not come to Ridgeview, it will instead go to our third party partner that handles online giving. A convenient alternative that does not cost Ridgeview anything is online bill pay through your bank. Most banks provide this service for free. You simply set up bill-pay as if you were paying a bill to Ridgeview Christian Church (if it asks for account number, you can type "General Fund" or "Tithe"). 2) Traditional Giving: We have a giving drop-box located in our entryway (we do not pass offering trays during the service). 3) Giving Through Mail: Mail your offering, tithe, or donation to:
